Job DescriptionCommerce - Efficacy & Assurance (CE&A) The IT Sales & Ordering - Efficacy and Assurance (SOEA) team is part of Comcast's Commerce Xperience Platform, working alongside SalesTech and OrderTech. The team ensures the reliability and effectiveness of sales and ordering systems supporting Xfinity Mobile, Internet, TV, NOW products, and OTT services.
Core Responsibilities - Architect, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python, Scala, Java, PySpark, Presto, and Athena.
- Engineer data solutions across hybrid environments (Kubernetes, Teradata, minIO, AWS S3, Databricks).
- Develop data models, schemas, and storage strategies based on privacy, performance, and access needs.
- Implement data ingestion, transformation, archival, and frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.
- Ensure high data quality from ingestion to consumption; build automated data validation and profiling.
- Maintain data dictionaries, lineage, flow diagrams, and transformation logic for troubleshooting
- Enforce privacy rules, sensitivity classifications, and governance standards across all datasets.
- Support cross-system reconciliation accuracy targets (95%+ within 24 hours).
- Build pipelines powering operational reporting for sales, orders, fulfillment, churn, and business KPIs.
- Implement anomaly detection to surface fraud risks, order fallout, and system irregularities.
- Provide data validation during integration and release testing across the customer journey.
- Create data assets that measure feature efficacy, product impact, and revenue/ARPU drivers.
- Apply AI/ML techniques for automated data transformation, cleansing, and predictive insights.
- Use Copilot and prompt engineering for solution design, code generation, debugging, and documentation.
- Use AI Workbench utilities for solution architecture and data development.
- Practice testdriven development in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration - Collaborate with product, architecture, engineering, and executive teams to define data needs and solutions.
- Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical designs.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, and enforce architectural best practices.
- Mentor engineers on data engineering practices, tooling, and modern development standards.
- Contribute across SOEA sub-teams including Sales, Orders, Risk, Billing, Fulfillment, and Provisioning.
- Review business and product requirements; propose enhancements to data systems and architecture.
- Develop user stories, requirements, and documentation for enterprise initiatives.
- Monitor emerging technologies and incorporate modern trends into longterm platform strategy.
- Support development of tactical and strategic solution architectures.
- Participate in business strategy and decision-making impacting technology direction.
- Apply deep experience in Order Management, Sales, Provisioning, and Fulfillment domains.
- Ensure data solutions support Xfinity and NOW products (Mobile, Internet, TV, OTT).
- Deliver architectures that balance short-term needs with long-term scalability and modernization.
Required Qualifications Technical Skills - Must Have: - Expert-level proficiency in Python, Scala, and/or Java
- Strong ETL/ELT engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (PySpark, Presto, Athena)
- Cloud expertise with AWS (S3, Redshift, EMR)
- Experience with Databricks and modern lakehouse architectures
- Advanced SQL and database design skills
Technical Skills Nice to Have: - Experience with Kubernetes, Teradata, minIO
- Data modeling (dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions)
- Streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis)
- Experience using AI Workbench for data design (preferred)
