Position: Full Stack Developer (React + Java) Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid - 3 days onsite; 2 days remote) Duration: 6 months contract with a high possibility of extension Job ID: 181022 Job Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Senior Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead with 5-8 years of experience in Java, React, and Next.js. The role requires a strong Lead Individual Contributor who can drive technical delivery, mentor developers, collaborate with stakeholders, and build scalable applications. The development split is 60% Frontend and 40% Backend. Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex is essential.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, React, and Next.js.
- Lead technical delivery while remaining hands-on with coding and code reviews.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and drive engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and make technical design decisions.
- Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code / OpenAI Codex) to improve development productivity and quality.
- Work with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure application scalability, security, resiliency, and production stability.
- Support production incidents and participate in incident management.
Qualifications: - 5-8 years of full-stack development experience.
- Strong hands-on Java, React, and Next.js experience.
- Frontend (60%) and Backend (40%) development expertise.
- Proven experience as a Lead Individual Contributor with mentoring capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar agentic AI coding tools.
- Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, and application resiliency.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
- Good to Have: Payload CMS, Content Management Systems (CMS), and content platform integrations.
