Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Coach / Scrum Master for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The scrum master is a key individual in the team and will work very closely with the product owner and lead engineer in keeping the team delivery focused. This role will facilitate all Agile ceremonies, coach the team on Scrum practices, and lead the team's transition from Kanban to Sprint-based delivery.
Responsibilities: - Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and PI Planning events
- Serve as a liaison between the product owner and development team to ensure requirements are met
- Coach the team and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Lead and support the team's transition from Kanban to Sprint-based delivery, helping establish effective Agile processes and behaviours
- Work closely with Change Management and Release Management teams to align delivery schedules with release and governance requirements
- Ensure user stories, tasks, and technical deliverables are sufficiently documented, refined, estimated, and tested before progressing to QA
- Track and manage risks, dependencies, impediments, and cross-team coordination activities that impact delivery timelines
- Partner with Product Owners, engineering leads, QA teams, and technology partners to ensure project objectives are understood and delivered successfully
- Monitor team performance through Agile metrics, delivery reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements: - Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master within a software development or technology delivery environment
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile methodologies, and preferably SAFe practices and PI Planning
- Experience working with Change Management, Release Management, and software delivery governance processes
- Knowledge of software testing lifecycles, QA processes, and release management principles
- Proven ability to coordinate delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders within a complex enterprise environment
- Experience supporting capacity planning, resource forecasting, and dependency management
- Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills
- Ability to influence teams and stakeholders while maintaining a servant leadership mindset
- Technical or software engineering background beneficial but not essential
Desired skills: - Experience with SAFE agile
- PSM Certifications
- Background in either software engineering or project management
- Fintech experience, particularly Prime Brokerage, a plus
Pay range: $73.08 - $81.08 per hour
