Senior Software Engineer (AI / AWS / Generative AI)Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid 2-3 Days Onsite)12+ Month Contract (Potential Extension or Conversion) Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies and Generative AI solutions.
This role will focus on designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, and scalable enterprise AI solutions leveraging AWS Bedrock and related AI services. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on engineering experience, strong technical depth, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment with aggressive timelines.
This position will play a key role in supporting enterprise AI initiatives, rapid proof-of-concept development, and production-ready AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions utilizing AWS cloud technologies and AWS Bedrock
- Build AI agents, copilots, and generative AI workflows leveraging foundation models and enterprise AI frameworks
- Integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise applications and platforms
- Develop scalable APIs, orchestration layers, and automation workflows
- Collaborate with architects, technical leads, and distributed engineering teams
- Optimize AI application performance, scalability, reliability, and security
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and solution assessments
- Support rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept initiatives
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Contribute within Agile development environments including sprint planning and delivery activities
Required Qualifications- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies
- Proven experience with AWS Bedrock and Generative AI development
- Experience building AI agents, copilots, or conversational AI applications
- Strong programming experience with: Python, .NET / C#
- Experience developing: REST APIs, Microservices, Cloud-native applications, Prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector databases, LLM integrations
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced delivery environments
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale AI implementations
