RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join its Digital Enterprise Experience team. This position is hybrid in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise endpoint and cloud-hosted virtual desktop environments, helping deliver a secure, reliable, and high-performing user experience across the organization.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting VDI environments, endpoint management, application deployment, and desktop lifecycle activities in an enterprise setting. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Endpoint Engineering teams while helping drive operational excellence within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support endpoint and virtual desktop platforms, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management
* Administer and validate cloud-hosted VDI environments and desktop images
* Package, test, and deploy applications using automated deployment methods
* Participate in operating system and application patch management initiatives
* Maintain endpoint compliance and configuration standards through policy-driven controls
* Conduct testing, pilot programs, and post-deployment validation activities
* Troubleshoot endpoint and virtual desktop issues and coordinate escalations when necessary
* Monitor and report on VDI health, deployment status, and compliance metrics
* Support incident, problem, and change management activities through ITSM processes
* Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
* Collaborate with Endpoint Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Service Delivery teams
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
* 4+ years of experience supporting desktop or end-user computing environments
* 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint or virtual desktop environments
* Experience supporting Windows and macOS enterprise environments
* Experience with automated software deployment and application packaging
* Hands-on experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
* Knowledge of image management, application delivery, patching, and endpoint compliance
* Basic scripting and automation experience, preferably PowerShell
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
* Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Intune, and Entra ID
* Experience with Nerdio Manager for Enterprise
* Experience managing macOS devices in an enterprise environment
* Experience within legal, financial, healthcare, or other regulated industries
* Understanding of endpoint security best practices and compliance frameworks
* Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
