Summary

Ability to be 70% hands-on Java development-based automation experience and 30% leadership/direction - MUST BE A TRUE HANDS-ON TECH LEAD, Leadership experience guiding QE engineers, solving failures, improving frameworks, and mentoring team members.

Must be based in Boston as the primary location; Needham is possible some days, but Boston is the team's home base.

The ideal candidate will bring:

Strong engineering/QE foundation with hands-on automation experience, not just tool-based testing. Ability to be 70% hands-on and 30% leadership/direction.
Java development or Java-based automation experience; Gherkin/BDD syntax is important.
Trading technology domain exposure, ideally OMS, pre-trade, post-trade, or broader asset management experience. This is a nice to have
CI/CD experience, preferably Jenkins, plus cloud exposure; AWS is ideal, but any cloud is acceptable.
Automation framework experience, we are using Playwright for UI testing.
Leadership experience guiding QE engineers, solving failures, improving frameworks, and mentoring team members.
AI-assisted development/testing exposure, such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or building/testing agents.
Must be based in Boston as the primary location; Needham is possible some days, but Boston is the team's home base.
