Position: Salesforce OMS Technical Architect

Job Description:
We are seeking a Salesforce Order Management Architect to design and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade order lifecycle solutions using Salesforce Lightning Order Management, the Salesforce Lightning Platform, and a complex ecosystem of downstream systems.
This role is ideal for someone who has real-world post-order experience—not just order capture—but has architected solutions spanning fulfilment, shipping, returns, refunds, payments, and customer visibility across multiple systems.
You will serve as a technical and functional authority, guiding architecture decisions, leading integrations, and ensuring reliable, maintainable solutions across commerce, service, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities-
Order Management Architecture
Design end-to-end order lifecycle solutions including:
- Order ingestion
- Orchestration and routing
- Fulfilment and shipment
- Cancellations, returns, and refunds
Lead architecture and configuration of Salesforce Lightning Order Management, including:
- Order Summary
- Fulfilment Orders
- Delivery Groups
- Orchestration and exception handling
Ensure data consistency and resiliency when integrating upstream commerce platforms and downstream fulfilment systems.
Integration & Ecosystem Design
Own integration strategy between Salesforce and:
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- ERP systems
- Payment gateways (authorization, capture, settlement, refunds)
- 3PLs and last-mile carriers
- Parcel tracking providers
Design API contracts, canonical data models, and event-driven flows.
Support both synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
Troubleshoot and govern real-world integration issues (missing data, partial payloads, retries, idempotency).
Post-Order & Customer Experience
Architect scalable solutions for:
- Shipment and delivery updates
- Exception notifications
- Returns and RMAs
- WISMO (“Where Is My Order”) visibility
Enable event-driven updates for service agents and customer self-service experiences.
Ensure a consistent post-order experience across B2C, B2B, and Service Cloud use cases.
Platform & Technical Leadership
Design Salesforce solutions using:
- Apex
- Flows
- Platform Events
- Orchestration
Govern metadata structure, environment strategy, and CI/CD pipelines.
Provide architectural oversight and design reviews for delivery teams.
Produce clear architecture diagrams, integration flows, and decision documentation.
Client & Delivery Leadership
- Lead solutioning sessions, architecture workshops, and technical discovery.
- Partner with business, commerce, service, and operations stakeholders.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- Support estimation, planning, and delivery governance.
Required Qualifications:
Salesforce Experience
5–10+ years of Salesforce experience
3+ years specializing in Salesforce Order Management
Strong understanding of:
- Lightning Order Management data model
- Order orchestration and fulfilment patterns
- Apex, Flows, and integration patterns
- SFDX, Git, and CI/CD practices
Integration Experience
Hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with:
- WMS and fulfilment systems
- ERP platforms
- Payment processors
- Shipping and carrier APIs
- Third-party tracking services
Experience with middleware tools such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato is a plus.
Architecture Skills
- API and event-driven system design
- Data modelling and transformation
- Performance and scalability considerations
- Distributed system troubleshooting
Soft Skills
- Strong client-facing communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to lead architecture discussions across multiple teams
- Comfortable operating as a technical authority and mentor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce Order Management, Application Architect, or Technical Architect certifications
- Experience with Salesforce Commerce (B2C or B2B)
- Background in Retail, CPG, or consumer-facing industries
- Experience supporting high-volume, post-order operational systems
