Lowell, AR)
Location: Lowell, Arkansas (Onsite)
Type:
Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

Overview
Join a leading
transportation and logistics organization operating one of the largest networks
in North America. As a Sr Network Engineer, you will design,
implement, and support enterprise-scale Core, WAN, and Cloud network
environments that directly support critical business operations across
thousands of locations.
This is a highly
visible, hands-on role where you'll lead complex initiatives, mentor junior
engineers, and help modernize network infrastructure through automation and
cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage enterprise Core, WAN, and Cloud network architectures
  • Lead deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure (on-prem + cloud)
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting across Layer 1-7
  • Build and maintain network automation solutions (Ansible, Terraform, Python, etc.)
  • Integrate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) into CI/CD pipelines (Git-based)
  • Monitor and optimize network performance using tools like SolarWinds, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus
  • Enhance network security (firewalls, segmentation, access control)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives end-to-end
  • Maintain documentation including diagrams, standards, and processes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or
equivalent experience)

7+ years of Network Engineering experience

Strong experience with:
o Routing protocols: BGP,
OSPF, EIGRP
o Switching: VLANs,
STP, VXLAN
o Network hardware:
routers, switches, firewalls

Proven experience in network automation (Ansible, Terraform,
Python, Shell, etc.)

Experience with monitoring, configuration management, and automation
systems

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer
  • Experience with:
    • Cloud networking:
      • AWS (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect)
      • Azure (VNets, ExpressRoute)
    • Firewalls: Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA
    • Load balancing: F5, NGINX, HAProxy
    • SD-WAN and large-scale distributed networks
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or high-availability environments

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
