Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Grand Prairie, TX

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Quality Engineer (Staff Level) to support advanced production programs and drive quality excellence across multiple sites and suppliers. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, and hands-on engagement with manufacturing and supplier quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support multiple sites and suppliers for production and transition-to-production initiatives
  • Lead and facilitate complex quality improvement initiatives to resolve recurring issues
  • Travel to supplier and site locations to assess and resolve program-related quality concerns
  • Identify process gaps and implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing solutions
  • Interface with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to communicate quality metrics and issues
  • Develop and improve quality processes, inspection plans, and performance metrics
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support failure investigations and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and quality requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, STEM field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in manufacturing or quality engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of industry quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, FAR/DFAR, J-STD
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to develop inspection methods
  • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Experience with:
    • Non-conformance disposition & root cause analysis
    • First Article Inspections (AS9102)
    • Inspection plan development
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or CQIA certification
  • Lean / Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Experience in supplier quality, audits, and production surveillance
  • Knowledge of special processes and manufacturing methods
  • Experience with process capability analysis, gage R&R, and MSA
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Apriso)
  • Prior experience in mentoring or leading teams
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
