Description: We are seeking a highly skilled
Integration Engineering Technician to support advanced manufacturing and production operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will help set up production environments, operate precision tools, perform material applications, and support the transition from development to full-rate production. This position directly contributes to high-reliability hardware used in mission-critical applications.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Setup & Operations- Configure production work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient workflows and smooth transitions to high-rate manufacturing.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Use precision-calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and related instruments.
- Perform troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and operational support to maintain high safety and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement- Identify and execute improvements related to safety, process flow, quality, and efficiency.
- Support process optimization initiatives aligned with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Maintain organized and compliant work environments through standardized practices.
Thermal Protection System (TPS) Application- Apply Thermal Protection System (TPS) materials to large aerospace structures following engineering drawings, models, specifications, and documented procedures.
- Perform surface preparation, adhesive application, gap filling, fixturing, sealing, repairs, and vacuum bagging of composite or metallic structures.
- Utilize various materials such as primers, RTV adhesives, coatings, sealants, solvents, and specialized consumables.
Inspections & Documentation- Conduct hardware verifications and second-party inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and engineering criteria.
- Accurately document work performed and maintain traceability throughout the manufacturing and integration processes.
Minimum Qualifications- 4+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, integration, or a related technical field.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and written instructions.
- Hands-on experience with precision measurement and calibration tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
- Experience working with adhesives, sealants, coatings, or thermal protection materials.
- Proficiency with digital tools such as Windows-based applications and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications- Technical certification, trade school training, or degree in a related field.
- Experience with cryogenic systems, fluid systems, or aerospace/launch vehicle assembly.
- Knowledge of precision assembly processes for large aerospace components.
- ATF certification for handling or installing explosive materials.
- Experience working with payloads, fairings, capsules, or similar hardware.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to work overtime based on operational needs.
