The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an planner providing information in forecasting depot maintenance workload hours/material for depot maintenance. Responsible workload hours estimation/formulation, labor standards development, work control document (WCD) creation, Bill of Material (BOM) input, work measurement studies, equipment/facilities planning.
DutiesHelp
- Applies basic industrial engineering processes to perform long-range pre-production planning for both prime support workload requirements relevant to depot maintenance.
- Reviews and coordinates on actions in support of the Aircraft Missile and Requirements (AMR) Process.
- Develops and maintains accurate Bills of Material (BOM) that identifies material required to accomplish Programmed Depot Maintenance, Modifications, or Unprogrammed Depot Level Maintenance.
- Provides Maintenance Review Team and Organizational Support / Chairs Maintenance Review Team (MRT)
- Performs work studies to ensure safety compliance, and Complies with safety rules and procedures.

QualificationsExperience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Technical and Medical Support Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-0895, Industrial Engineering Technical Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: - Experience that involved work measurement, simplification, and standardization.
- Methods analysis and improvement.
- Analysis and design of work center facilities and equipment.
- Planning and control of industrial operations.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-07 or equivalent in other pay systems that involved industrial planning in support of depot maintenance project resources and equipment; material planning/forecasting in support of programmed and unprogrammed workloads; establish labor and material costs utilizing historical data from Planning systems; and development of industrial operations workload hours, labor standards, Bill of Material (BOM).

NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of standard accepted industrial engineering practices and methodologies to combine work measurement studies from a wide variety of sources into a comprehensive study; mechanics and construction maintenance and repair facility work process and methods; and mathematics and statistical analysis techniques.
2. Knowledge of safety and occupational health requirements as outlined in applicable standards. regulations, and/or technical orders.
3. Knowledge of the operations, services, needs, and goals of management and their program(s): the
organizations studied or served; and related customers, functions, resources, and users.
4. Knowledge of current automation technology and practices sufficient to evaluate the effectiveness of its use and provide assistance to others.
5. Skill and ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications; gather, analyze, and present data and supporting analyses such as manpower validation exercise, and contracting out studies; and research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
6. Ability to independently plan, coordinate, and organize work to identify problems and develop innovative solutions; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain good working relationships.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
