Job Description - Data Management Consultant (Contingent Assignment)

Location: Irving, TX
Alternate Locations: Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Consultant to support the BSA/AML Program within the Commercial Banking & Lending Data Governance & Data Management Metadata team. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to analyze complex data challenges, influence data strategy, and ensure compliance with regulatory and data governance standards.

You will work on large-scale initiatives that require strong analytical capability, business acumen, and the ability to evaluate ambiguous or unprecedented data scenarios. This position offers the opportunity to shape data quality, metadata management, and reporting processes that directly support enterprise-level compliance efforts.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and consult on large, complex data management initiatives with broad organizational impact.
  • Review, analyze, and solve multifaceted data governance challenges, including data quality, metadata, data lineage, and regulatory-driven issues.
  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of data processes involving multiple variables, intangibles, and long-range implications.
  • Provide expert support for BSA/AML data governance, ensuring alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, technical writing, and reporting that meet audit standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, compliance, and technology teams to gather requirements and drive solutions.
  • Perform data validation, testing, QA, and root cause analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of critical data assets.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau) to interpret and present data insights.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Data Management
    • Business Analysis
    • Analytics
    • Project Management
    • Or an equivalent combination of professional, consulting, training, military, or educational experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Regulatory and compliance expertise (especially BSA/AML).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
  • Strong background in complex data analysis, data quality, and validation.
  • Experience in data governance or data management concepts.
  • Proficiency in metadata management and data lineage processes.
  • Testing or quality assurance experience.
  • Requirements gathering and audit support experience.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency with:
    • Microsoft SQL
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
