Job Description: Space Systems Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Space Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, testing, and operation of space systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in systems engineering principles and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable spacecraft, satellite, or space mission solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage system requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the design, integration, and verification of spacecraft or satellite systems.
• Perform system architecture, trade studies, and technical analyses.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, software, and mission operations.
• Develop system documentation, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical reports.
• Participate in system integration, testing, validation, and mission readiness activities.
• Identify technical risks and support mitigation planning.
• Ensure compliance with customer, mission, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle management.
• Experience with spacecraft, satellite, payload, or aerospace systems.
• Knowledge of system requirements management and verification processes.
• Familiarity with systems modeling and engineering tools (e.g., MBSE, SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar).
• Understanding of hardware and software integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with configuration management and technical documentation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with satellite missions, launch vehicle integration, or mission operations.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and quality processes.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), or avionics.
• Experience with DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, or similar systems engineering tools.
• Understanding of environmental testing, including thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC.
