Summary

  • The Client is seeking an experienced Head of Product Management to lead the Benefits Administration product portfolio with a strong focus on Group Life and Group Disability products. 
  • This role will oversee a team of Product Managers and drive strategic product vision, roadmap execution, and delivery excellence across core insurance administration modules.
  • The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of deep domain expertise in Benefits Administration, with strong exposure to claims, policy administration, customer portals, quoting systems, and absence management.
Key Responsibilities
Product Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and drive the product vision, roadmap, and strategic direction for Benefits Administration platforms.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers; establish best practices, governance, and delivery standards.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, underwriting, operations, IT, and executive leadership to align product initiatives with organizational goals
  • Own prioritization decisions balancing regulatory, operational, and customer needs.
Domain & Functional Oversight
Provide deep subject matter expertise across:
  • Claims administration
  • Policy administration
  • Customer/self-service portals
  • Quoting & rating systems
  • Absence management solutions
  • Ensure seamless integration across modules within the Benefits ecosystem.
  • Drive product enhancements aligned to Group Life and Group Disability market trends.
Execution & Delivery
  • Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle: discovery, requirements definition, backlog management, release planning, and post-production optimization.
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to ensure scalable and compliant product solutions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and industry standards adherence.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Act as executive-level liaison between business and technology teams.
  • Evaluate and manage third-party product platforms and system implementations.
  • Drive vendor partnerships and product configuration strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in Benefits Administration domain.
Strong hands-on experience in:
  1. Claims
  2. Policy Administration
  3. Customer Portal
  4. Quoting Systems
  5. Absence Management
  • Extensive experience with Group Disability and Group Life products.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multiple Product Managers or cross-functional product teams.
  • Strong understanding of insurance regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum product environments.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desired)
Experience working with:
  • FINEOS
  • V3locity
  • Or equivalent Benefits Administration platforms
  • Experience in large-scale product transformations or platform modernization.
  • Exposure to API integrations and digital transformation initiatives.
