We are looking for Scientist II for our client in Ridgefield, CT
Job Title: Scientist II
Job Location: Ridgefield, CT
Job Type: Contract
Job Overview:
Pay Range: $35.36hr - $40.36hr

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and execute routine in vivo studies with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret experimental results and recommend appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Support development and validation of rodent models for cardiometabolic diseases.
  • Apply scientific principles and conduct literature reviews to support experimental design.
  • Propose and implement new ideas, technologies, and process improvements.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Document, analyze, and report experimental data with high integrity.
  • Prepare and contribute to protocols, procedures, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data and refine study designs.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in vivo studies related to cardio-renal metabolic diseases.
  • Perform dosing procedures including oral gavage, IP, IV, and SC injections.
  • Carry out physiological monitoring and sample collection (blood, urine, tissues).
  • Perform functional assessments such as blood pressure monitoring, telemetry, and metabolic studies.
  • Process and analyze biological samples using histology, qPCR, ELISA, and biochemical assays.
  • Maintain accurate study documentation including protocols, raw data, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with animal care standards and institutional guidelines.
  • Present data and support preparation of internal reports and publications.

Required Skills And Qualifications:

  • Master s degree with 2 3 years of experience or Bachelor s degree with 3+ years of experience in a relevant scientific field.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and disease mechanisms.
  • Hands-on experience with in vivo models and laboratory techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in laboratory and vivarium environments.
  • Perform moderate physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 20 lbs), and handling laboratory animals.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Flexibility to support weekend work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cardio-renal or metabolic disease research.
  • Familiarity with advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
  • Experience contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
