Who we're looking forToyota's Environmental and Facilities (E&F) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Environmental Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Environmental & Facilities Operations function for Toyota Autobody Company (TABC) and supporting other West Coast sites environmental activities at approximately 25 vehicle logistics, parts distributions, technician training areas and sales office sites.
Reporting to the Environmental & Facilities Region 4b Environmental Operations Manager, the person in this role will support the Environmental & Facilities operations department's objective to ensure environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements as well as Toyota Motor North America's (TMNA) internal environmental requirements and support Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050.
This position is located in Long Beach, California.What you'll be doing - Support daily operations to ensure environmental compliance with ALL Environmental Regulations.
- Evaluate compliance issues related to Environmental Regulations and implement appropriate countermeasures.
- Support TABC and West Coast LDS sites waste program, water program and general auditing of all sites for compliance.
- Support TABC and West Coast LDS sites related to any acute environmental issues such as spills, water contamination, air emissions overage, high utility usage, etc.
- Coordinate completion of annual regulatory testing and reporting.
- Support TABC and West Coast LDS sites Toyota EEMS environmental programs working with affected shops to be able to meet all regulatory requirements.
- Support Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 KPI achievement.
- Lead problem-solving activities and implement systems for long-term success.
- Prepare presentations to operations staff to support environmental KPIs.
What you bring - Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Engineering or similar technical field or its equivalent professional experience in an environmental related role for manufacturing.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Environmental Compliance Management related role (co-op will be considered).
- Experience in environmental report preparation & presentation, to include submission to regulatory agencies.
- Strong use of Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS and Outlook.
- Must be willing and able to work up to 15% of overtime on average when required.
- On occasion must be willing to travel domestically up to 25% when required.
Added bonus, if you have- Regulatory experience from the state of California preferred.
- Experience in managing Environmental Management Systems, such as ISO 14001 or other nationally recognized standards that provide a framework to manage environmental responsibilities.
- Experience building reports/flows in Microsoft, Power BI.
- Experience leading projects and working collaboratively across company and multiple functions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Fundamental skills of problem-solving and desire to improve/kaizen.

The annual base salary range for this position is $86,300.00 - $140,300.00.
