Looking to move out of the field or warehouse and into a
high-demand, long-term tech career? This is an entry-level opportunity to break into the
data center industry-no prior data center experience required. If you've worked in construction, low-voltage, warehouse operations, or any hands-on environment, your skills translate well here.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians, learning how data centers are built and maintained while getting paid to develop
valuable technical skills.
What You'll Be Doing- Pull, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling following industry standards (TIA/EIA).
- Assist with RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with hands-on guidance.
- Perform cable labeling and identification to keep work organized and traceable.
- Learn and complete basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
- Support cable testing using industry tools (Fluke, EXFO) under supervision.
- Gain exposure to fiber optic cabling, including proper handling and dressing.
- Follow job-site safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors while learning the trade.
Schedule- Monday-Saturday
- 1st Shift
- 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or
- 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (depending on the day)
- Must be willing to work either
- 58-hour work week (consistent overtime)
What We're Looking For- Background in construction, warehouse, low-voltage, or hands-on labor roles
- Experience with tools, following instructions, and working on active job sites
- Interest in learning structured cabling and data center infrastructure
- Willingness to work long hours and be dependable
- Comfortable working on your feet and in industrial environments
- Already having, or willing to obtain OSHA 10 Certification
Skills That Translate Well- Cable pulling or installation
- Low-voltage or electrical exposure
- Termination or punch-down experience (or willingness to learn)
- Cat5 / Cat6 cabling
- Fiber optic exposure (nice to have, not required)
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
