responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities Automation & Execution

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, high-quality automation test scripts primarily using Selenium with Java.
• Utilize ALM Octane (required) for test case management, risk research, defect tracking, and overall test progress recording.
• Translate complex test scenarios into Gherkin syntax and contribute to Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test coverage using tools like Cucumber.
• Perform both manual and automated testing, including participation in physical ATM lab testing and validation as needed.
• Develop and execute SQL queries for test data creation, validation, and backend testing.

Strategy & Leadership

• Lead UAT planning, execution, and issue resolution across large-scale commercial banking platforms.
• Partner with Engineers to develop a comprehensive testing strategy and define standards/procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
• Serve as a project lead or mentor for less experienced QA staff, driving innovation and streamlining overall testing processes.
• Collaborate and consult with users and stakeholders, providing expert advice, risk research, and direction on test outcomes.
• Log, track, and verify the resolution of software and specification defects throughout the entire testing lifecycle.

Compliance & Documentation

• Create comprehensive test plans, document test cases, and record test progress and results meticulously.
• Understand and ensure compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area are met, working with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
• Research system features being tested and proactively identify and track issues.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) within commercial banking or enterprise financial services.
• ALM Octane REQUIRED: Proven, hands-on experience utilizing ALM Octane for test management and defect tracking.
• Strong, hands-on experience designing and automating regression test cases with Selenium and Java.
• Proficiency with other key testing tools, including Jira and general ALM platforms.
• Demonstrated understanding of automation frameworks, test strategy development, and establishing end-to-end traceability.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills with a proven ability to consult with mid-level managers and technical peers.
• Location Requirement: Must be local to Charlotte, NC, and committed to working 100% Onsite (5 Days/Week) at the CIC Center. No hybrid or remote options are available.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Gherkin syntax and BDD concepts.
• Experience with other automation tools such as Tosca.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Prior experience coordinating global teams or managing offsite QA resources.
• Prior experience at large-scale financial institutions, such as Wells Fargo.
