Senior Project Manager Retail POS Implementation Location: New York, NY 10018 (Onsite) Duration: 12+ months (Possible extension up to 18 months)
Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 40 hours/week
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and store roll-out of our new point of sale (POS) system implementation across all Franchise retail locations in the US.
This is a critical initiative to modernize in-store technology, improve Franchisee experience, and streamline operations. This individual will also support other key business projects across the Operations department and must be confident producing executive-level presentations and deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Management
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, timeline, and budget for the nationwide POS rollout.
- Coordinate with internal IT, store operations, finance, and vendor partners to define project scope and deliverables.
- Maintain and communicate with a Focus Group of key Franchisees to secure buy-in and testing.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between the retailer and POS technology vendor (Helix).
- Manage contracts, deliverables, and service levels to ensure on-time, on-budget implementation.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with store operations teams to plan deployments with minimal disruption.
- Work closely with training teams to design and deliver POS training programs.
Implementation & Rollout
- Oversee Beta/Pilot installations, testing, and full-scale rollout across hundreds of Franchise locations.
- Manage scheduling of hardware installations, software configuration, data migration, and system integrations.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Establish and execute testing protocols prior to deployment.
- Manage issue tracking, troubleshooting, and resolution during implementation.
Communication & Reporting
- Provide regular status updates to executive sponsors.
- Prepare detailed reports on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
Change Management
- Develop change-management strategies to support store adoption.
- Support stores during and after go-live.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in retail technology or large-scale retail operations.
- Proven track record of implementing POS systems or similar enterprise retail tools.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
- Ability to drive multiple complex cross-functional projects simultaneously.
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
