Role- Citrix Solution Architect

Location: Milpitas, CA (Onsite)

Type: Contract

Citrix Solution Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing enterprise-scale Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions across on premises and cloud environments. The role involves close collaboration with service owners, infrastructure towers, security teams, and operations to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing Citrix platforms aligned to business and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Design, build, deploy scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant Citrix environments aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.Architect and deliver Citrix published applications and desktops across Windows and Linux VDAs, supporting single session and multi session VDI use cases.
• Provide hybrid VDI platforms to support developer & enterprise workloads across on premises and cloud.
• Assess existing Citrix landscapes and recommend enterprise-grade architectural improvements in collaboration with service owners and technology towers.

Platform Implementation & Operations

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Citrix initiatives throughout the transformation lifecycle, adhering to industry and vendor best practices.
• Implement image management, user personas, profile management, and application layering solutions (e.g., App Volumes).
• Migrate complex, multi tier apps, users, & workloads to Citrix platforms with minimal business disruption.
• Integrate Citrix environments with on premises networks, identity services, & security controls as required.

Infrastructure & Technology Expertise

• Prove in depth knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) concepts and Citrix technologies.
• Possess strong expertise across datacenter and cloud operating systems.
• Work across HCI platforms (vSAN) and hypervisors including VMware and Nutanix.
• Leverage working knowledge of developer apps, databases, modern software deployment methods.

Security, Risk & Compliance

• Design Citrix environments in accord with enterprise security guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Implement Citrix security, governance, and compliance controls where applicable.
• Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans across Citrix and cloud platforms.

Performance, Capacity & Cost Management

• Conduct system planning, performance analysis, capacity modeling for best scalable & reliable platform.
• Provide tools and solutions for end to end performance monitoring and analysis.
• Estimate infrastructure costs, establish cost optimization & control mechanisms for Citrix-based services.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to enhance Citrix platform management, application design, data migration, and security posture.
• Define clear roles and responsibilities, RACI for Citrix operations teams & Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Provide architectural guidance and technical expertise to dependent services and technology teams.
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts, reports, and recommendations to management and IT stakeholders through structured documentation and presentations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Citrix Solution Architect / Senior Citrix Administrator.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation capabilities.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple technology teams.

Preferred Certifications

• Citrix Certified Enterprise Expert (CCEE)
• Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA)
