Summary

CAD Designer

We are seeking a CAD Designer to join a growing organization and support the design and development of a variety of construction-related projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong 2D AutoCAD skills who wants to continue developing technically while gaining exposure to projects beyond the drafting desk.

The position will initially be heavily focused on CAD design and drawing development, with opportunities to gain field experience and take on greater project and customer responsibility over time.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and update detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for construction-related projects.
  • Convert existing plans, sketches, field drawings, and other information into accurate CAD drawings.
  • Review drawings and project information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, field personnel, customers, and other team members.
  • Revise drawings based on field conditions, project changes, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of project requirements, construction practices, and field applications.
  • Participate in field visits and project activities as experience develops.
  • Take advantage of company-sponsored training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D is required.
  • Previous CAD design or drafting experience in a construction, architectural, MEP, engineering, or similar project-based environment is preferred.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in CAD, drafting, engineering, construction, or a related discipline is beneficial but not required for candidates with relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, sketches, and technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how designs translate into real-world construction projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to learn, develop, and take on increasing responsibility.

Career Development

This position offers significant opportunity for professional growth. The company is committed to investing in the development of its employees through paid training, courses, educational materials, and hands-on experience.

As the role develops, the successful candidate can gain increased exposure to field operations, customers, and overall project execution. Depending on individual strengths and interests, potential career paths may include project/construction management, customer and project management, advanced design responsibilities, or design and sales.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD professional who wants to build a long-term career and ultimately grow beyond a traditional drafting position.
