Senior Manager, Tax Accounting (ASC 740)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Tax Accounting to lead our global consolidated income tax provision process and ensure compliance with ASC 740. This role plays a key part in preparing and reviewing tax provisions, disclosures, and tax-related financial reporting for a multinational organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of global interim and annual ASC 740 income tax provision calculations and disclosures.

• Develop and support current and deferred tax amounts in US GAAP audited financial results reported quarterly to the SEC.

• Partner with tax colleagues to prepare effective tax rate reconciliations, cash-flow support, and assess impacts of tax law changes, audits, and projected book/tax differences.

• Maintain detailed inventory of deferred tax assets, liabilities, and uncertain tax position reserves.

• Oversee balance sheet tax accounts and review reconciliations.

• Support tax accounting methods and their impact on external financial reporting.

• Advise management on income tax accounting matters, legislative changes, and compliance requirements.

• Ensure adherence to SOX controls.

• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and efficiencies in tax accounting systems.

• Manage domestic and international post-acquisition tax integration, purchase accounting entries, and related filings.

• Assist with transfer pricing monitoring and documentation.

• Manage and deliver on special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, including planning, assigning, reviewing work, and managing performance.

• Responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring staff while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA required.

• 10+ years of income tax experience in public accounting or within a large multinational public company tax department.

• 3+ years of management experience leading teams and projects.

• Deep knowledge of GAAP, including ASC 740 and ASC 805.

• Strong understanding of domestic and international tax statutes and regulations.

Preferred Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Taxation or Accounting.

• Experience with OneSource Income and Provision software.

• Familiarity with Bloomberg, CCH, or Checkpoint tax research tools.

• Experience with Oracle ERP systems.

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based, requiring extended periods at a computer.

• Occasional travel may be required, including overnight stays.
