Apex Systems | California Public Sector | NG911 Program
Overview

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a large-scale California public sector telecommunications modernization initiative. This role will provide project leadership, governance, stakeholder management, strategic planning, and oversight of statewide Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) deployment and migration activities. The individual will work with executive leadership, technology vendors, telecommunications providers, and public safety stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Active PMP Certification.
• Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Minimum four (4) years serving as a Senior Project Manager on large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and vendors.
• Experience developing integrated project schedules, status reporting, risk management plans, and executive dashboards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• NG911 experience.
• Telecommunications modernization experience.
• Public safety communications experience.
• IP network migration experience.
• California State Government experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide program planning and project governance activities.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules.
• Monitor risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones.
• Facilitate executive-level meetings and presentations.
• Coordinate stakeholders, vendors, and implementation teams.
• Track project performance and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
• Support migration planning and operational readiness activities.
