Role Overview
The Lead Information Security Software Data Engineer joins a mature, Agile, and cross-functional security engineering team responsible for maintaining security products and designing custom cybersecurity integrations with enterprise applications. This role focuses on translating security requirements into scalable technical solutions while collaborating closely with application teams and information security partners. The individual is expected to operate with minimal supervision and take ownership of projects from concept through delivery and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand requirements for new security integrations and solutions that enhance application security
- Design and implement custom cybersecurity integrations aligned with security and application architecture standards
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with application development teams
- Partner closely with Information Security stakeholders to align solutions with security policies and best practices
- Plan, organize, and execute security engineering initiatives, including:
- Tracking project deliverables and milestones
- Reporting on project status and progress
- Documenting solutions, requirements, and support materials throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience
- Working knowledge of encryption principles and key/certificate management best practices
- Experience with certificate management and key management systems
- Hands-on experience with Venafi and/or CyberArk
- Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Node.js, or Power BI
- Strong architectural mindset with the ability to understand system interdependencies and troubleshoot distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault or IBM Vault
- Experience with tokenization technologies
- Experience with PQR or post-quantum cryptography (PQC)
- Ability to write clear, maintainable test code across unit and integration levels
