Position: Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 6+ months

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid – minimum 3 days/week)

The client can be somewhat flexible on the manufacturing or production test environments experience. Candidates with experience in Python or Go + SQL + Linux with the ability to write software and build automation will be the best fit.

Interview Process: 30-minute interview with 2–3 team members, Onsite for second round

Project Details / Overview

Client is seeking a Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Engineer to support the NPI Test Engineering organization responsible for validating networking hardware prior to customer shipment. This role focuses on developing and maintaining the software infrastructure used to automate manufacturing test systems across global production environments.

This position operates primarily as a full stack software engineering role within a hardware manufacturing environment, building internal tools that allow engineers and manufacturing partners to remotely control equipment, execute automated testing, and analyze system performance. The engineer will work across backend automation, databases, UI development, and Linux-based systems interacting with hardware platforms.

Must-Have Skills

• 3–5 years of software engineering or test infrastructure development experience
• Strong programming experience in Python or Go
• Experience developing front-end/UI applications
• Experience working with SQL databases (MariaDB, MySQL, or similar)
• Experience working within Linux environments for development and troubleshooting
• Experience building or supporting full stack applications across backend services and user interfaces
• Ability to work with hardware systems for testing and debugging purposes (no hardware design required)
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Plus Skills

• Experience supporting manufacturing or production test environments
• Familiarity with system-level hardware validation or infrastructure tooling
• Experience developing internal engineering tools or automation platforms
• Exposure to configuration management tools such as Ansible or SaltStack
• Experience working with contract manufacturers or global production partners
• Exposure to liquid cooling or data center hardware environments
• Experience building dashboards or visualizing operational or test data

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop automation and infrastructure tools using Python or Go to support hardware validation
• Build and maintain backend services, databases, and UI tools used for manufacturing test systems
• Enable remote control and monitoring of production test equipment
• Deploy and support tools within Linux-based environments
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues discovered during manufacturing testing
• Research and integrate new equipment into automated test workflows
• Partner with engineering teams and manufacturing sites to improve test reliability and efficiency
• Maintain and enhance internal tooling supporting global manufacturing operations
• Analyze test data to improve product quality and manufacturing performance
• Provide ongoing technical support for production test infrastructure
