Role Overview
This role is accountable for establishing and maintaining partnerships with Application Development and Production Support teams. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will lead SRE teams to implement prescribed measures, ensuring the appropriate instrumentation, tooling, ticketing, alerting, and on-call routines are in place for key services. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to decompose objectives into units of work for team members, while advancing efficient solution delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain partnerships with Application Development and Production Support teams.
- Ensure appropriate instrumentation, tooling, and alerting are in place for key services.
- Decompose issues or objectives into units of work for team members.
- Advocate and advance more efficient solution delivery practices.
- Evangelize great design, engineering, and organizational practices.
- Build and support high-scale or regulated data environments.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Experience with Azure data services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, SQL, ADLS, Kubernetes).
- Experience with AWS data services (e.g., Glue, EMR, Redshift, S3, Lambda, KMS, IAM).
- Proficiency in Linux and SQL.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Experience building observability with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Elastic.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Programming skills in Python or Bash.
- Understanding of networking, authentication, and security controls.
- Experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS.
- Experience building and supporting Kafka or related streaming platforms.
Work Environment
This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite.
