Position Overview:
The Business Systems Analysis Manager is responsible for leading the business systems analysis function within the Enterprise PMO and overseeing a team of Business Systems Analysts who support enterprise initiatives, technology implementations, and strategic transformation programs. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, project delivery teams, and technology partners to ensure business needs are clearly defined, solutions are aligned to organizational goals, and requirements are translated into actionable deliverables.
The position operates as a critical integration point across portfolio governance, project delivery, and quality assurance, working in close partnership with the Portfolio Manager (intake, prioritization, and alignment) and QA Manager (quality, testing, and validation) to ensure consistent, end-to-end delivery discipline across the EPMO.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and manage a team of Business Systems Analysts including work allocation, performance management, and capability development.
- Assign analysts based on portfolio demand, project complexity, and analyst capability.
- Establish performance standards, conduct evaluations, and support career development.
- Build a high-performing team with strong skills in requirements, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor and report on team capacity, deliverable quality, risks, and performance to EPMO leadership.
- Establish and enforce business analysis standards, ensuring consistent, high-quality requirements, process documentation, and traceability across all initiatives.
- Ensure consistent practices for requirements documentation (business, functional, non-functional), including process mapping, rules definition, use cases, data transformation, and requirements traceability.
- Drive continuous improvement of analysis practices aligned to delivery outcomes and governance expectations.
- Oversee requirements lifecycle, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment to business objectives from intake through delivery.
- Partner with the Portfolio Manager in EPMO to support project intake, business case development, and prioritization by providing clear requirements, impact assessments, and complexity insights.
- Partner with the QA Manager in EPMO to align requirements with testing strategy, ensuring end-to-end traceability, effective UAT, and reduced defects/rework.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8 or more years of experience in business or systems analysis.
- 3 or more years of direct leadership experience managing Business Analysts or equivalent roles.
- CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA certification(s) or other relevant certification required.
- Experience supporting enterprise initiatives and system implementations.
- Experience supporting regulated, financially significant, or high-risk initiatives, including direct experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support capability.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
- Travel may be required.
