Summary

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OT Data Integration Lead to design, implement, and manage secure Operational Technology (OT) to Information Technology (IT) data integrations for a large-scale digital transformation initiative. This role will bridge industrial control systems and enterprise data platforms, enabling secure, near real-time operational data for analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience integrating DCS, PLC, SCADA, and industrial historians into enterprise platforms while designing secure OT-to-IT architectures. Experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or automotive environments is highly preferred.


Required Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in OT Data Integration or Industrial Controls.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • DCS
    • PLC
    • SCADA
    • Honeywell PHD and/or AVEVA PI Historians
  • Strong expertise with:
    • OPC UA
    • MQTT (Sparkplug B preferred)
    • Kepware
    • Ignition
    • SQL
    • Python
  • Experience designing secure OT-to-IT architectures using DMZ/Broker patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial networking and secure data integration.
  • Experience building production-grade industrial data pipelines.
  • Time-series and event modeling expertise.
  • Knowledge of ISA-95, ISA-88, and ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Experience with Azure data ingestion technologies such as Event Hubs, Kafka, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.

Key Responsibilities

OT Architecture & Connectivity

  • Design and maintain secure OT-to-IT integration architecture.
  • Develop enterprise standards for industrial data integration.
  • Build secure connectivity using OPC UA, MQTT, brokers, DMZ architectures, and industrial gateways.
  • Implement store-and-forward strategies to ensure reliable data movement during network disruptions.
  • Standardize onboarding processes, security controls, and integration templates across manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure enterprise architecture aligns with future analytics and AI initiatives.

Industrial Data Integration

  • Integrate data from:
    • Honeywell PHD
    • AVEVA PI
    • DCS
    • PLC
    • SCADA
    • LIMS
    • Laboratory systems
  • Develop asset models, event frames, equipment hierarchies, and industrial data models.
  • Build reusable industrial data products for enterprise analytics.
  • Publish curated datasets for reporting, APIs, AI, and machine learning platforms.
  • Implement signal conditioning, interpolation, dead-banding, validation, calibration, and data quality improvements.

Reliability & Security

  • Monitor data freshness, pipeline health, and data quality.
  • Build dashboards, alerts, and operational monitoring.
  • Define SLAs, SLOs, and data quality metrics.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity teams to enforce ISA/IEC 62443 controls.
  • Support change management, incident response, outage coordination, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Implement lineage tracking and automated data quality validation.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with Plant Controls, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Quality, and IT teams.
  • Work with enterprise data engineering teams to deliver trusted OT datasets.
  • Coordinate with vendors and system integrators to ensure successful implementations.
  • Drive enterprise-wide OT data integration standards and roadmap.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of OT Controls or OT Data Integration experience.
  • Experience integrating industrial control systems into enterprise data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Honeywell PHD and/or AVEVA PI Historians.
  • Strong expertise with:
    • OPC UA
    • MQTT
    • Kepware
    • Ignition
    • SQL
    • Python
  • Experience implementing secure DMZ/Broker architectures.
  • Knowledge of ISA-88, ISA-95, industrial networking, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA integrations and LIMS systems.
  • Understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles including least privilege, certificate management, and secrets management.
