A high-performing engineering team is seeking a
Technical Editor and Writer to support the development, revision, and publication of technical documentation for advanced electronic sensor and system technologies. This role is fully onsite and requires strong analytical writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within an
Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure.
The ideal candidate is able to interpret engineering source material, collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, and produce high-quality technical content that complies with military specifications and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, rewrite, and edit technical publications for electronic systems, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and parts information.
- Research, analyze, and compile information from engineering artifacts, system documentation, and contractual inputs.
- Produce content in multiple formats, including page-based electronic publications, interactive formats, and structured HTML, XML, and SGML.
- Ensure all documentation meets applicable military requirements, specifications, and standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, writers, task leads, and instructional partners to create accurate, scalable, and user-focused deliverables.
- Conduct quality reviews to verify accuracy, clarity, formatting consistency, and compliance.
- Support additional technical documentation tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline OR a minimum of 3 years of experience working with maintenance and operation of systems such as radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, or IT-based sensors.
- Active U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally if project needs arise.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications- More than 5 years of engineering writing experience.
- Willingness to obtain a higher-level security clearance if needed.
- Experience as a multidisciplinary or certified military instructor.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
