Genesis10 is currently seeking a System Engineer / Design Team Lead for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into technical requirements and low-level design (LLD) solutions. The ideal candidate will partner with Technology Infrastructure Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to produce design solutions, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), that meet business needs while adhering to architecture standards.
Responsibilities: - Work with business partners to understand Business Requirements by reviewing the Business Requirements Document
- Translate Business Requirements into Technical Requirements
- Identify appropriate SMEs for Technical Requirements and Design discussions
- Translate Technical Requirements into a Low Level Design (LLD) solution using the IT Service Management (ITSM) Framework's Service Request (SR) Design Console
- Partner with several Technology Infrastructure (TI) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to produce the design solution that meets the Business Requirements
- Produce High Level Designs (HLDs) using Visio and Adobe along with the LLDs
- Understand Reference Architecture standards to produce a standard and supported solution
- Identify any non-standard product and address with appropriate parties for resolution
- Work closely with the Chief Engineer and Capacity Planner to agree to a hosting target location and solution around sizing of CPU, Memory and Storage
- Document requirements for CPU, Memory, Disk, backups, applications, hosting location, and maintenance windows
- Work closely with the Technology Project Manager to communicate status, updates and escalate to resolve issues as needed
- Work with Supply Chain Management to obtain quotes for hardware where appropriate
- Meet with appropriate SMEs to review and obtain signoff for cost and design solutions
- Update, maintain and post accurate design deliverables to the project repository
Requirements: - Ability to create End-to-End Infrastructure Solutions
- Knowledge of database technologies and interfaces
- Understanding of Cloud and Cloud-based technologies
- Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP, TCP, DNS, Load-balancers)
- Ability to create conceptual infrastructure designs using MS Visio
- Customer service focused, with good communications skills, a self-starter, and self-supervised with good influencing skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead the design (Analyze) phase of a project
- Ability to meet negotiated deliverable dates with required output
- Able to articulate proposed solutions to business representatives as well as technical hosting team resources (SMEs)
Desired skills: - Software Developer experience
- Oracle Cloud or AWS solution experience
Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
