Key Responsibilities:
- SAS Administration (Windows & Linux)
- Administer, maintain, and support SAS environments hosted on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Perform system health checks, upgrades, patching, user management, and platform troubleshooting.
- Documentation
- Develop and maintain comprehensive end-to-end documentation, including:
- Installation guides
- Configuration procedures
- Architecture diagrams
- Operational runbooks
- Troubleshooting guides
- Daily operational processes and support procedures
- Incident and Service Request.
- Manage production incidents and service requests through established support processes.
- Provide user support for platform-related questions, performance issues, troubleshooting, and access requests.
- Onboard new users and manage SAS permissions and security roles.
- Support file system management, operational issues, and platform maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve incidents and ensure service reliability.
- Monitoring and Alerting
- Implement and enhance monitoring capabilities across SAS platforms.
- Develop proactive alerting for infrastructure, application, and operational issues.
- Create dashboards and reporting to improve platform visibility and operational readiness.
- Automation and Puppetization
- Automate platform administration and operational tasks wherever feasible.
- Utilize Puppet and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to standardize configurations and deployments.
- Reduce manual intervention through scripting and automation.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- SAS Administration (Windows & Linux) (TOP PRIORITY)
- Linux administration and shell scripting(TOP PRIORITY)
- LDAP or Active Directory, and integrated Windows authentication
- AWS and cloud migration experience, and possibly SAS Viya
- Basic SAS programming (Base SAS and macros), for troubleshooting user jobs
- Change management and production support
- SAS 9.4 Grid Manager and the workload scheduler it uses (LSF), including queues and how work is spread across servers
- SAS Metadata Server and the SAS Management Console tool
- SAS mid-tier servers and SAS Environment Manager
- Shared file systems (for example GPFS or NFS) and storage performance tuning
