Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Orlando, FL that is seeking an AI Engineer.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join a small, high-impact team building and operating internal web applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). This is a hands-on, full-time engineering role focused on backend-heavy development, AI orchestration, and cloud-native delivery, with selective full-stack contributions as needed.
You will work closely with a senior technical lead, executing from a prioritized JIRA backlog and serving as a key technical contributor across integrations, GenAI agents, and data-driven features. This role is designed to increase overall team capacity by taking ownership of core engineering execution, enabling greater stakeholder engagement and roadmap progress.

Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and maintain LLM-enabled services, including prompt orchestration, tool/function calling, and agent workflows
* Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and agent-based systems on top of integrated enterprise data sources
* Integrate with enterprise and private LLM inference endpoints using standard client libraries and SDKs
* Build and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI, with a strong focus on business logic, integrations, and reliability
* Implement and optimize data access layers using SQL, async database patterns, and ORM frameworks (e.g., SQLAlchemy)
* Contribute to TypeScript/React front-end development as needed to support AI workflows and internal user experiences
* Work with large datasets (e.g., pricing, performance, operational data) to power analytics, model context, and AI agent behavior
* Apply practical machine learning and data analytics techniques where they enhance insight generation and automation outcomes

REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated professional experience delivering production-grade software systems (non-entry-level)
* Cloud, CI/CD, and operational excellence
* Expert-level Python experience, including API and service development with FastAPI and async patterns
* Proven experience implementing LLM-based solutions in real-world applications (prompt engineering, orchestration, RAG, evaluation)
* Strong working knowledge of SQL, relational data modeling, and query optimization
* Experience building and supporting integration-heavy systems with multiple upstream/downstream dependencies
* Practical experience with cloud-native development, including containers and deployment workflows
* Ability to work effectively from a JIRA backlog, communicate progress clearly, and deliver iteratively in a small team

Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience administering or supporting Kubernetes environments
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Azure Bicep, Terraform, or similar)
* Familiarity with federated authentication / SSO (OAuth2, OIDC, enterprise identity providers)
* Solid experience with TypeScript and React beyond basic UI updates
* Exposure to machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch) and/or data processing tools (e.g., NumPy)
* Experience implementing observability standards (logging, metrics, monitoring dashboards)

Work Arrangement & Schedule:
* Full-time: 40 hours per week
* Hybrid model: A minimum of 24 hours per week onsite, with the remaining hours worked remotely
* Onsite days are coordinated to support close collaboration with the technical lead and broader stakeholders
