Systems Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our client's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company's systems, networks, and applications, while providing technical support to staff and implement improvements to optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities

• System Maintenance & Support
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Apply patches, updates, and security fixes regularly.
• Network Administration
  • Manage LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Ensure network security and optimize connectivity.
  • Monitor bandwidth usage and resolve connectivity issues.
• Security & Compliance
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery testing.
• Monitoring & Reporting
  • Use monitoring tools to track system health and performance.
  • Generate reports on system usage, incidents, and improvements.
• User Support & Training
  • Provide technical support to employees across departments.
  • Train staff on IT best practices and security awareness.
• Continuous Improvement

• Research and recommend new technologies to enhance efficiency.
• Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
