Position Overview

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will support the development and testing of high volume, highly available software applications. This full stack QA role has a strong focus on backend processes, database testing, test automation, and API testing.

The project is approximately 50% greenfield and 50% brownfield development, providing the opportunity to work on both new and existing applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands on experience with manual and automated testing, Selenium or Playwright, SQL, API testing, Agile methodologies, and Azure DevOps. This role will also provide technical guidance and coaching to other QA team members, particularly in test automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure new and existing functionality is reliable, defect free, and performs as intended.
• Create, document, execute, and maintain test plans and test cases through User Acceptance Testing.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and/or Playwright.
• Perform Smoke, Sanity, Functional, Regression, and UAT testing.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and business partners to develop comprehensive test scenarios.
• Review requirements and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality risks.
• Perform API and database testing, including writing and executing SQL queries.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and development processes.
• Develop and report QA metrics, including test coverage, test confidence, and defect trends.
• Identify, document, troubleshoot, and verify defects and fixes.
• Build and maintain functional and regression automation frameworks using appropriate design patterns.
• Support load and performance testing, including test execution and results analysis.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and coaching to other QA engineers.
• Work with engineering leadership to establish QA direction and priorities.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business teams.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing, including White Box and Black Box testing.
• Strong experience with manual testing and test automation.
• Hands on experience with Selenium and/or Playwright.
• 3+ years of database testing experience with the ability to write and execute SQL queries.
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile software development environment.
• 3+ years of experience testing multi tier client server applications.
• Experience with API testing.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and JIRA.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of software development frameworks and application architecture.
• Experience designing functional test frameworks and applying software design patterns.
• Experience with automated functional and regression testing.
• Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, and/or C#.
• Experience with data driven testing.
• Experience with load and performance testing for web applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to provide direction and coach other QA professionals.
