Job Summary We are seeking a
Network Operations Engineer to support
NYC E911/NG911 Public Safety services. This role serves as the technical advocate for public safety customers, ensuring reliable delivery of critical 911 services. The engineer will monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, coordinate maintenance activities, support network evolution projects, and provide direct customer communications regarding service performance and incidents.
This position requires experience in a fast-paced, NOC-style environment with the ability to provide quick responses and handle critical service-impacting issues.
Key Responsibilities - Support and maintain TDM and SIP-based 911 networks.
- Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve service issues impacting 911 operations.
- Support network evolution and modernization initiatives related to 911 call delivery.
- Document, track, and communicate service issues internally and externally.
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities with authorized Public Safety personnel.
- Review disaster recovery plans and network reliability measures.
- Provide regular updates and status reports to Public Safety customers.
- Perform annual attestations of customer 911 circuits.
- Participate in customer meetings and service reviews.
- Escalate and coordinate issue resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications - Associate's Degree.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in technical service management or network operations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and after-hours support.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and customer support skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Degree in Telecommunications or related field.
- 3+ years of telecommunications experience supporting 911 services.
- Strong knowledge of:
- 911 Architecture
- TDM, SIP, IP, and Wireless technologies
- NG911 environments
- Managed WAN networks
- Experience with:
- 911 network infrastructure and CPE
- 911 switching and translations
- Public Safety or Emergency Services organizations
- Project/Program Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 1 day onsite per week).
