Position: Asset Governance Manager

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Policy Development & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and update corporate purchasing policies for technology equipment and related assets.
  • Establish clear standards and guidelines for what technology equipment can be purchased using corporate credit cards.
  • Maintain alignment with IT security, finance, and compliance requirements.
  • Educate internal stakeholders and end-users on purchasing protocols and policy updates.

2. Purchase Review & Enforcement

  • Monitor corporate card transactions for technology purchases to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Investigate purchases that appear to violate purchasing standards or fall outside approved categories.
  • Directly engage with end-users to clarify policy violations and provide corrective guidance.
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system for exceptions and repeat violations, escalating to leadership when necessary.

3. Vendor & Inventory Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and technology asset vendors.
  • Collaborate with vendors to standardize reporting, delivery, and asset lifecycle tracking.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the asset inventory database, reconciling vendor reports with internal systems.
  • Support periodic audits of technology assets, ensuring accountability and minimizing loss.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Technology, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure end-to- end alignment on asset governance.
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on policy compliance, asset inventory health, and vendor performance.
  • Partner with Core Technology Operations to align on asset deployment and decommissioning procedures.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT asset management, procurement governance, or purchasing policy development.
  • Experience working with corporate card programs and vendor contract management is a strong plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of technology procurement and inventory control processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to analyze purchasing patterns and flag anomalies.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with end-users and vendors professionally.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems, asset management software, and enterprise reporting tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Coupa, Oracle ERP, etc.).
  • Ability to develop and implement policies with a balance of rigor and usability.

  • % Compliance rate with purchasing policy
  • Number of policy violations per quarter
  • Inventory accuracy rate
  • Vendor reporting timeliness and completeness
  • User satisfaction with purchasing processes
