Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado (Onsite)
Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Top --Secret clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.Role Overview
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for the assessment of compliance of information systems with established standards. This includes reviewing, verifying, and validating required documentation and artifacts. The candidate must have experience in developing cyber-secure network device configurations for firewalls, switches, and routers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary Network Security Engineer supporting a large-scale program.
- Plan, deploy, integrate, and test network upgrades at operational sites.
- Conduct independent research on networking and security topics and produce reports on findings.
- Ensure team devices are hardened appropriately and comply with all necessary cyber protocols.
- Assist with real-world events, which may include nights and weekends.
- Design security configurations and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to explain network security requirements and compliance.
- Document project design and development efforts.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Generally has 3+ years of related experience. Must have hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching/routing (e.g., Juniper, Cisco) and firewall configuration (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto).
Technical Skills: Must understand the OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, and UDP Multicast. Knowledge of ACL design and function is required. Experience with virtualization is necessary, as is familiarity with the NIST CVE framework. Must have intermediate knowledge of security design, development, and testing methodologies.
Certifications: An IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification is required (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Ansible, PowerShell).
- A solid understanding of JUNOS.
- Prior experience with C2BMC.
