Position Overview
Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: San Francisco Bay Area, Santa Clara
Key Responsibilities: Establish safety guidelines, procedures, signage, and evacuation drills for all local and international locations.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure the facility or organization complies with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Safety Inspections: Conduct routine workplace evaluations, hazard assessments, and safety audits to identify and correct potential risks.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations for injuries, accidents, and near-misses, and perform root-cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
Training & Education: Design and deliver engaging health and safety training programs for employees and management.
Program Development: Write, update, and implement company-wide safety procedures, emergency response plans, and environmental guidelines.
Data & Reporting: Maintain safety records, track EHS metrics, and submit required regulatory documentation to governing bodies
Establish safety guidelines, procedures, signage, and evacuation drills for all local and international locations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience: 2 to 5 years of applied professional experience in an industrial, manufacturing, corporate, or general EHS environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety laws, risk management principles, and hazard mitigation techniques.
Certifications (Preferred): Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
Skills: Excellent communication, training presentation, detail-oriented record-keeping, and problem-solving abilities.
