Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join Charter Communications' Performance Lab, focusing on next-generation WiFi devices. This role will primarily support testing and validation of WiFi 7 routers, WiFi 7 Cellular Backup Units, and WiFi 7 Extenders. As part of a forward-looking team, this position will also gain exposure to upcoming technologies, including WiFi 8, later in the engagement.
The Network Engineer will work in a lab environment, executing performance and interoperability testing, analyzing results against technical requirements, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors to drive remediation and product improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on testing of WiFi routers and CPE devices in a lab environment
  • Execute performance testing (conducted and over-the-air) using traffic generators and attenuators
  • Analyze and document test results against defined requirements and SLAs
  • Troubleshoot network and WiFi performance issues using packet capture and analysis tools
  • Develop and maintain test cases, documentation, and reports
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve defects and improve device performance
  • Support requirement gathering and contribute to quality and testing best practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2-3 years of hands-on WiFi or network engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of WiFi protocols and standards (experience with 802.11ac and 802.11ax required; general knowledge of WiFi 7 expected)
  • Experience testing CPE and router devices
  • Proficiency with Wireshark (required/highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with performance and spectrum analysis tools
  • Experience working in a test lab or validation environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $68.00/hr.
