Position Overview

We are seeking two (2) highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) level Project Managers to lead critical initiatives within the Office of Technology and Strategic Services. This role is dedicated to supporting educational technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Take the lead in managing IT projects, including project definition, rigorous progress tracking, and executive status reporting.
• Standards & Governance: Establish and maintain Project Management Standards and develop a comprehensive project repository to improve resource estimation for future IT initiatives.
• Portfolio Management: Manage an Enterprise Project Portfolio containing multiple simultaneous projects.
• Requirements Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of requirements, including gathering, analysis, organization, and reporting.
• Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation, including User Guides, Systems Guides, and detailed technical/functional design documents.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Synchronize activities across various organizational functions and departments to ensure project cohesion.

Required Skills & Experience

• Certification: Must hold a valid Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex stakeholder requirements into clear technical documentation for development teams.
• Collaboration: Proven experience collaborating with Senior Management, Business Analysts, Architects, QA Teams, and Developers.
• Methodology & Tools: Deep knowledge of PMI standards. Hands-on experience with work management tools such as Azure DevOps and Git.
• SDLC Expertise: Mastery of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including software and database development concepts, test cases, and quality assurance.
• Technical Writing: Proficiency in creating Formal Requirements Documents, Technical Use Cases, User Stories, Business Cases, and Requirements Traceability Matrices.
• Business Analysis: Strong experience in mapping business processes into technical documentation and performing Benefit Analysis and Risk Identification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IT Project Management specifically within a K-12 Education environment.
• Additional certifications in Scrum or Agile methodologies.
