Job Summary
The IT
Business Relationship Manager is responsible for building strong partnerships
between the IT organization and its internal and external stakeholders. This
role ensures strategic alignment between business objectives and technology
solutions, acting as a trusted advisor to the business while enabling
efficient, high-quality IT service delivery.
The
Relationship Manager reviews and qualifies incoming business requests, defines
expected business outcomes, and facilitates seamless progression through IT
solution delivery. This role works across cross-functional teams,
supports governance and prioritization, and ensures solutions align with
established technology roadmaps and guiding principles.

Required Skills &
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Systems Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience across at least two IT disciplines (e.g., application development, infrastructure, architecture, cloud, databases, or networks)
  • Experience working with diverse technologies, platforms, and operating environments
  • Strong understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their application to business models
  • Knowledge of product management concepts and Agile methodologies, with the ability to support Agile teams
  • Experience in relationship management, demand management, solution management, or customer success roles
  • Strong presentation skills with experience communicating to senior business and technical leaders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Industry experience is beneficial but not required

Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management & Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business areas on all technology-related advisory needs
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships between IT and business stakeholders
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes and underlying needs for technical solutions
  • Act as a liaison between IT teams and business units to ensure clear communication and alignment
  • Participate in leadership and stakeholder meetings to understand priorities and upcoming initiatives
  • Escalate risks, issues, and critical concerns to senior management in a timely manner

Demand Intake & Solution Planning
  • Review, assess, and qualify new intake requests to ensure clarity of scope and expected business outcomes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solution designs, application configurations, and process improvements
  • Lead business and requirements-gathering workshops
  • Ensure solutions comply with the organization's technology roadmap, standards, and architectural principles
  • Perform market research and comparative analysis to evaluate solution options and provide recommendations with justification

Technology & Process Implementation
  • Advise business partners on appropriate technology platforms and solutions
  • Support development of IT roadmaps aligned to business strategy
  • Assess and enhance service catalogs to support evolving business needs
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency
  • Create and maintain operating models for relationship management processes

Project Governance & Prioritization
  • Support project initiation activities and intake governance
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define priorities for initiative pipelines
  • Score and evaluate initiatives based on business value, complexity, and risk
  • Identify high-level cost estimates, procurement requirements, and implementation approaches
  • Lead governance and portfolio review meetings to communicate IT progress and outcomes

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report on IT performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Support development of dashboards and automation for performance monitoring
  • Participate in and support enterprise-wide initiatives such as knowledge-sharing sessions and surveys

Team Collaboration
  • Schedule, lead, and facilitate effective meetings with clear agendas and outcomes
  • Document meeting notes and action items
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication and knowledge sharing
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
