IT Technical Support Specialist

About the Role

Under broad supervision, the IT Technical Support Specialist provides ongoing management information system (MIS) user support via phone and onsite visits. This role is responsible for troubleshooting end-user issues, maintaining IT systems and assets, supporting upgrades, and training employees as needed. The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-focused, and experienced in end-user computing, Windows environments, and basic networking.

Objectives of This Role

• Maintain essential IT operations including operating systems, applications, security tools, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, and peripherals
• Handle business-critical IT support tasks and system improvements
• Improve employee productivity through timely and effective technical support
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
• Serve as the subject-matter expert for Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Adobe, and other widely used applications

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day end-user technical support (phone and onsite)
• Install, configure, and support workstation hardware and software
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, Surface Pros, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, monitors, keyboards, mice, phones)
• Support Microsoft Office 365, VPNs, Adobe applications, McAfee, LogMeIn, and encryption tools
• Analyze staff IT needs, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements
• Perform software installations, updates, and upgrades; resolve performance issues
• Work within an Active Directory domain environment
• Execute system and basic network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration
• Troubleshoot basic network issues using command-line tools
• Train employees on hardware and software usage
• Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurations

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience providing end-user IT support
• Strong troubleshooting experience with:
• Microsoft Office 365
• VPNs
• Adobe applications
• McAfee
• LogMeIn
• Encryption tools
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops, and Surface devices
• Proficiency in troubleshooting computer peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors, etc.)
• Experience working in an Active Directory domain environment
• Strong software installation and troubleshooting skills
• Basic networking knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues via command line
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Additional Requirements

• Candidate must be local to Milledgeville, GA (31062)
• Must be able to work onsite as directed by the client
• Ability to start within 10 business days of selection
• Absences longer than two weeks require prior approval
