Advantage Technical is placing a Senior Manager of Lightwave Technology with a global leader in undersea fiber optic communications infrastructure - an organization whose technology powers over 50% of the internet's subsea cable network. What You'll Do
- Lead undersea optical product design and prototyping from concept through customer delivery
- Manage a team of electro-optical engineers across amplifier design, prototyping, and next-generation product development
- Drive cross-functional integration of optical, electronic, mechanical, and firmware engineering
- Participate in requirements development and design reviews
- Produce manufacturing test requirements; analyze production test data and support disposition activities
- Develop relationships with internal partners and key external suppliers
- Coordinate with field installation teams on deployed equipment
What You Bring
- MS or PhD in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
- Advanced fiber optical engineering skills including deep EDFA design expertise and hands-on experience
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic components and undersea system technology
- Experience in fiber optic/electronic testing, lab automation, qualification, and reliability standards
- Proven ability to lead diverse, highly skilled technical teams
- Strong project planning and risk mitigation capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
