Application Developer

Your role and responsibilities

Application Developer, IBM Corporation, Bellevue, WA (Up to 100% telecommuting permitted):

• Develop detailed non-functional test plans using JMeter and LoadRunner, outlining load, scalability, and endurance testing scenarios based on technical requirements.
• Design and document performance test cases and scripts per release using JMeter and custom scripting to validate application throughput, latency, and stability across various environments.
• Execute load, stress, scalability, and endurance tests using JMeter and LoadRunner, incorporating SQLbased test data sets to evaluate system behavior under concurrent user activity.
• Monitor server-side performance using Dynatrace, analyzing CPU utilization, memory consumption, JVM threads, service latency, API call performance, and database interactions to identify bottlenecks during performance cycles.
• Log and track performance defects per release cycle using Jira and Rally, validate fixes through retesting, and coordinate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and client review meetings using Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence, providing daily updates on test progress, risks, dependencies, and performance findings.
• Generate Daily Status Reports (DSR), Weekly Status Reports (WSR), and performance test summaries using Excel, Confluence, and PowerPoint, document key performance indicators including throughput, response times, failure trends, and resource utilization.
• Create final test closure documentation, including exit criteria validation, unresolved defect logs, environment notes, and performance benchmark summaries using Confluence and SharePoint to support release readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, and architects using Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure test environment readiness, troubleshoot build issues, and validate system stability.
• Analyze historical performance trends and propose improvements using Dynatrace dashboards, log analysis tools, and CI/CD metrics, supporting long-term scalability and system optimization.
• Utilize: JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, Jira, Rally, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines.

Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Full Stack Java Developer, DevOps Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, Jira, Rally, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines. $239,200 per year. Full time. D142.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
