Job Summary We are seeking a
Systems Engineer II to support complex hardware-software systems through requirements definition, system architecture, integration, and verification. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure systems are designed, verified, and transitioned successfully into production environments.
About the Role As a Systems Engineer II, you will play a key role in developing and managing technical baselines, leading design reviews, and supporting verification and validation activities. You will contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements development through system qualification, while driving continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities - Capture, analyze, and finalize functional and performance requirements, maintaining full traceability and verifiability through design milestones.
- Develop functional and physical system architectures and perform trade studies to identify optimal design solutions.
- Plan, organize, and lead internal and external design reviews, documenting decisions and driving corrective actions to closure.
- Collaborate with integration and test teams to support schedules, maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and develop test verification matrices.
- Lead verification and validation (V&V) execution, analyze results, resolve discrepancies, and close verification loops.
- Manage configuration baselines, enforce version control, and perform impact analysis for design and requirement changes.
- Author and maintain key systems engineering artifacts, including requirements documents, design descriptions, test plans, and risk registers.
- Prepare technical status reports and presentations for engineering and leadership stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and software teams.
- Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons-learned documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills - 2-7 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or complex engineering environments.

- Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or equivalent.

- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Adaptability in fast-paced, evolving project environments.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with guidance or navigation systems.
- Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience supporting formal engineering milestones such as SRR, SFR, PDR, and CDR.
- Background in hardware-software integrated systems.
