Summary:
The main function of a sales representative is to sell goods for wholesalers or manufacturers to businesses or groups of individuals. A typical sales representative is responsible for making buyers and purchasing agents interested in their merchandise, demonstrating their products and explaining how those products could benefit the customer, by reducing costs and/or increasing sales. The main function of a sales manager directs the actual distribution or movement of a product or service to the customer. A typical sales manager coordinates sales distribution and analyzes sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.
Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates.
Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.
Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients and attending trade shows and conferences.
Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices and sales.
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Strong knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent training required.
8-10 years experience required.
Typical Day in the Role
Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to identify, advance, and close cloud security (Sentinel) opportunities by combining technical security expertise with a sales motion, ensuring nonprofit customers across the U.S. and Canada move from technical engagement to purchase.
Key projects: This role will contribute to supporting multiple ongoing cloud security (Sentinel) opportunities and helps move engagements from technical discussion to deal closure.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates MUST have their relevant security and sales experience (particularly Azure Sentinel) prepared prior to the assessment.
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Sentinel cloud security solutions, paired with a strong security foundation and a customer-facing or sales background. The role requires the ability to articulate value, engage customers, and independently drive opportunities from technical discussion through deal closure while collaborating closely with technical specialists and cross-functional partners. Relevant partner or prior-role experience with Sentinel is acceptable.
