Responsibilities: Responsibilities - Work full-time onsite at headquarters in Washington, DC.
- Drive, standardize, and manage the unified configuration management database.
- Collect and aggregate data to support ITIL processes and perform analysis across configuration, event, capacity, availability, demand, incident, and problem management.
- Assess and fine-tune monitoring capabilities to provide accurate and actionable alerts for 24x7 operations.
- Create and deliver intuitive dashboards showing current and historical performance and service status.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize monitoring dashboards across servers, networks, applications, storage, and cloud services.
- Deploy, manage, and update Management Packs, connectors, and monitoring policies to support business application and service monitoring.
- Perform event correlation and filtering to streamline triage, reduce noise, and ensure timely escalation.
- Integrate data sources from OpenText OBM, SiteScope, and Microsoft SCOM into a unified OBM event console.
- Conduct proactive performance and availability monitoring, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Implement custom dashboards, third-party connectors, and monitoring automation to detect and resolve service-impacting issues.
- Create policies and procedures for monitoring operations and standardize onboarding and offboarding processes.
Experience Requirements: Experience Requirements - Minimum 7 years of related experience with multi-vendor server operating systems.
- At least 2 years managing OpenText tools including AI Operations Management, Operations Bridge, SiteScope, and Optic.
- Hands-on expertise with management protocols such as SNMP and WMI.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, VBScript, and/or similar languages.
- Experience managing monitoring systems with more than 250 hosts and/or more than 3,000 sensors.
- Experience operating monitoring solutions such as Zenoss, PRTG, Zabbix, and Nagios.
- Extensive experience monitoring servers, storage, databases, networking, and applications with a focus on maximizing monitoring value.
- Proven track record engineering monitoring solutions and setting strategic direction in collaborative environments.
- Experience supporting a 24x7 operations environment (preferred).
- Experience acting as a technical lead during service outages and coordinating cross-team troubleshooting (preferred).
- Systems administration experience with Windows and/or Linux (preferred).
- Expert-level scripting and automation experience (preferred).
- Experience integrating monitoring tools with ServiceNow and automating alerts to generate service tickets (preferred).
- Strong understanding of ITIL and ITSM, including monitoring, demand, availability, and capacity management (preferred).
- Experience analyzing monitoring reports to drive capacity and availability decisions (preferred).
- Experience creating executive-ready dashboards and data-driven briefings from performance and availability metrics (preferred).
- Experience with visualization and computational tools (preferred).
- Ability to obtain a public trust and meet citizenship or residency requirements as noted (preferred if already active).
Education Requirements: Education Requirements - ITIL certifications including Foundations or above (preferred).
