Job Summary
We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer / Deskside Support Technician to provide Level 1 / Level 1.5 technical support to end users in an onsite environment.
The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of experience supporting Windows desktops and laptops, Microsoft Office 365 applications, Active Directory, ServiceNow, VPN/VDI, hardware, peripherals, and other end-user technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 1 / Level 1.5 technical support through phone, email, chat, remote, and onsite channels.
Respond to ServiceNow tickets, troubleshoot issues, document resolutions, and maintain accurate ticket records.
Troubleshoot Windows OS, desktops, laptops, Office 365, Outlook, Teams, VPN, VDI, and other end-user applications.
Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, monitor, docking station, keyboard, mouse, and peripheral issues.
Perform workstation/laptop setup, configuration, imaging, deployment, replacement, and troubleshooting.
Support new-hire onboarding, workstation preparation, account access, and basic user setup.
Assist with password resets, account access, connectivity issues, and basic Active Directory troubleshooting.
Provide remote support using approved remote-support tools.
Support office moves, workstation changes, hardware replacements, and other onsite IT activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow established IT support procedures.
Assist with hardware inventory, asset tracking, shipping/receiving, and equipment distribution.
Escalate complex or unresolved technical issues to appropriate L2/L3 support teams.
Assist with IT projects and other end-user technology initiatives as required.
Required Skills & Experience
3–4 years of experience in Desktop Support, Deskside Support, Helpdesk, or IT End-User Support.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows desktops, laptops, operating systems, and common hardware issues.
Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
Basic knowledge of Active Directory and user account troubleshooting.
Experience with ServiceNow or other IT ticketing systems.
Experience providing onsite and remote technical support to end users.
Basic VPN and VDI troubleshooting experience.
Experience troubleshooting printers, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.
Experience with workstation/laptop setup, configuration, imaging, deployment, and replacement.
Experience supporting new-hire onboarding and workstation setup.
Basic knowledge of hardware inventory and asset management.
Ability to troubleshoot Level 1 / Level 1.5 issues and appropriately escalate complex issues.
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tickets and prioritize support requests effectively.
