Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our HRIT & Corporate Services IT team. This role is critical in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ensuring high-quality, governed data to support analytics, automation, and AI-driven initiatives.

You will work across enterprise HR and corporate systems, leveraging Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to enable data-driven decision-making and support next-generation AI capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Pipelines

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub)
  • Build batch and near real-time data ingestion frameworks
  • Ensure data pipeline reliability, monitoring, and automated alerting

Data Modeling & Semantic Layer

  • Develop dimensional data models and data marts for analytics and reporting
  • Define and maintain consistent data definitions across HR and enterprise systems
  • Resolve data inconsistencies across multiple source systems

AI & Data Enablement

  • Prepare structured datasets for AI/ML use cases including RAG and LLM grounding
  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to support Vertex AI and enterprise AI initiatives
  • Enable automation use cases with clean, contextual data

Data Quality & Governance

  • Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring frameworks
  • Maintain data lineage, documentation, and governance standards
  • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements

Analytics & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions
  • Build curated datasets for self-service analytics (BigQuery, Looker)

 

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Integration
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery preferred) or AWS/Azure
  • Familiarity with data pipeline tools (Apache Beam, Dataflow, dbt, or similar)
  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and flat files
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling

Domain Experience

  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as:
    • SAP SuccessFactors
    • ServiceNow (HRSD)
    • SAP S/4HANA
  • Ability to collaborate with business and functional teams

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with dbt for data transformation
  • Knowledge of SAP CPI or integration platforms
  • Exposure to AI/ML data preparation, RAG, or LLM-based solutions
  • Experience in regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, Energy)
  • Google Cloud Data Engineer Certification (preferred)
