Job Description
We are looking for a strong hands-on Java Technical Lead / Architect who can take ownership of solutions from requirement gathering and technical design through hands-on development and delivery.
The ideal candidate must be a strong hands-on developer who is comfortable coding, designing solutions, leading developers, and interacting directly with clients and business stakeholders.
The candidate should have excellent communication and client-facing skills and be able to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, drive architecture/design discussions, and work closely with the development team through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with clients, business stakeholders, and product teams to understand and gather requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements, solution designs, and implementation plans.
- Lead technical architecture, application design, API design, and microservices design discussions.
- Remain highly hands-on with Java development and coding.
- Design and develop scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams.
- Conduct code reviews and design reviews and ensure development best practices are followed.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, client meetings, technical discussions, and solution walkthroughs.
- Mentor developers while continuing to contribute directly to development.
- Take technical ownership from requirements → design → development → deployment.
Must-Have Skills
- 10+ years of Java development experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java 8+.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot.
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB / NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Gradle, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
Leadership & Client-Facing Skills – Critical
We are specifically looking for someone who has:
- Strong client interaction and communication skills.
- Experience conducting requirement-gathering sessions with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to convert business requirements into technical architecture and design.
- Experience leading technical and solution design discussions.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring developers.
- Ability to independently drive technical decisions and take end-to-end ownership of delivery.
- Strong hands-on coding capability – this is not a purely managerial or architecture position.
